Un plug your washing machine before any maintenance is carried out.

Check the filter for daubery and other articles’

remember to put a towel or something under the filter as water will spill onto the floor

Reinstall the filter and Close the machine door

Using a kettle Pour two lots of hot water into the draw of the machine.

Add four to six cups of white vinegar in to the draw.

Add additional hot water bringing the water to  bottom of the rubber of the door.

Leave standing for 8 hours or over night.

Put the machine to drain position and switch on.

After the machine has darned clean out the filter again.

Put the machine onto a empty service boil wash

When the wash is finished recheck the filter

In heavy limed conditions we would repeat twice a year.

Smelly washingmashines

Turn off your appliance Before doing any  maintenance, turn it off and unplug it before starting.

people wash their clothes at 40 degrees or less. This is a great way to save money on energy bills and is better to the environment, but there is a down side.

Washing at these temperatures will not completely rid your washing machine of mould and bacteria that high temperatures would. You need to run a service wash to deal with this problem.

A service wash means spinning the machine without any clothes in at a high temperature. Ideally done once a month,
Clean the seal, drawer, and filter. Mould and bacteria can build  fester in the rubber seal around the door. After washing have a look at the seal to see if it needs a scrub - doing this regularly can help prevent the build-up of mould and bacteria. If mould is untreated , it may sink into the porous rubber of the seal and be impossible to remove. If this happens, you may need to replace the door seal.

Mould and bacteria also have a tendency to build up in the detergent drawer and filter.
Leave the door and drawer open Leaving the machine's door open after washing allows air to circulate in the drum and helps prevent the growth of mould and bacteria. You should also leave your machine's detergent drawer open for the same reason.

Check the stand pipe If bad smells continue, you may have a partial blockage in the standpipe. If you suspect this is the case, use a drain unblocker to try and clear the pipe.

How Can I Keep My Oven Clean?

2/10/2012

There is an answer to this question ,The way to keep your oven permanently clean is to wipe it around with a sponge and soapy water after each use.

Obviously this is not always practical as you probably want to eat the food you have just cooked. Also the oven is hot and you need to leave it for 30 minutes before touching the inside.

It is important to remove any fat or food before it turns solid and become carbonated. Once this process takes place it is then very hard to remove.
